COVID Policy for Staff

  • We all need to continue to be alert because the COVID-19 risk is not over.
  • No one is to come to work if you have any flu like symptoms, or even mild symptoms that might be the early signs of cold or flu.
  • No staff in residential care are to commence work until they have been temperature checked and screened before you start work.
  • If, for any reason, you have been referred for a COVID test then you are to: a) immediately notify OLOC, & b) stay away from work until the results are known.
  • If someone else living in your household been to a hotspot at a time nominated by NSW Health then they have to be tested, self-isolate and follow advice from NSW Health, regardless of whether their employer tells them to do this. Anything else is reckless and is a risk to you.
  • In that case, where someone else in your household has been referred for a COVID test then you are also to: a) immediately notify OLOC, & b) you are stay away from work until the results are known for the test of your household member. We would expect that you would also be tested.
  • You can keep up to date with hotspot venues and suburbs identified by NSW Health: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates

Communication in an outbreak situation: If there is an outbreak, we need to minimise the potential for confusion, so you will need to communicate with us and we will need to communicate with you. You can help us is by ensuring that you are available for us to contact you.

If your facility or service is not affected then you will continue to communicate with us as you normally do. If you normally ring your facility manager, RN or service coordinator then you will continue to do that.

If the facility or service where you work is affected by the outbreak then we will update you about how we can best communicate during the outbreak, and that might be through a staff information phone hotline number and at a staff information email address. We will text you more information at the time of any outbreak and we will issue regular updates via a texted link.
