Home Modification

Our Lady of Consolation’s Home Modification Service offers simple home modifications that aim to ensure that older people can remain living at home safely.

The service is specifically targeted to create home environments that are safe, while increasing the wellbeing of clients and allowing them to confidently access things in their own home. While the service does not include general renovations to your home, there are a wide range of alterations available under the Home Modification Service to help keep you safe and independent, including:

  • Redesigning a bathroom;
  • Altering a kitchen;
  • Widening doorways;
  • Installing smoke alarms
  • Installing handrails
  • Modifying steps, ramps and access pathways.

Our service also includes an in-house Occupational Therapist (OT) who will complete all required assessments and finalise all Home Modifications service jobs to ensure all they are suitable to your needs.
