Our Lady of Consolation Aged Care & Services is a successful not for profit organisation based at Rooty Hill, where we operate a residential aged care campus for 300 elderly people. We also provide community care services to over 2000 elderly people living at home in the Western Sydney region from Epping to the Blue Mountains and we employ more than 400 staff.
In our Finance Team we have a 12 month fixed term opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer, reporting to our Senior Accountant. In this team you will have a broad range of duties and good variety in your work role.
We have a healthy work environment that allows for a good work/life balance. The role of the Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organisation. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. The role also requires the day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner.
To be successful in this role you need to have an understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills. A degree in Finance or Economics, Business Studies or Accounting would be beneficial and have more than three years’ experience in relevant roles in accounting/finance department. It is essential that you are proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and in the use of major accounting software. Experience in the aged care sector will be highly regarded but is not essential. An appropriate salary will be negotiated, including the option of salary packaging.
The position is being offered on a part-time basis [12 month fixed term contract] (35 hours per week). We will actively support you, and can guarantee that you will find the role both challenging and fulfilling. You will need to be able to work within a philosophy of care that strongly supports the dignity of older people. Comprehensive orientation training will be provided to the successful candidates.
