Our Lady of Consolation Aged Care & Services supports older people across western Sydney, in their homes, in local community centres through our GYM programs, through low-cost housing in Toongabbie and at our Residential Campus in Rooty Hill. Volunteers have always been a valued component of Our Lady of Consolation’s care community. Each volunteer’s experience at Our Lady of Consolation is as different as they are.
Volunteers bring different skills, experiences and interests to their time with us, they meet with different clients and residents, and work alongside different staff members. We want our volunteers to find roles that are as unique and valuable to them as they to us.
Volunteer Opportunities in Residential Care
Over the years OLOC has looked to the local community for volunteers to keep our residents connected to meaningful relationship-based care and companionship.
We are looking for passionate, caring people to visit with residents at our Residential Campus in Rooty Hill. You will receive training and support from our experienced team. If you have a special interest or skill, we’d love to find a way for you to share your interest that will bring joy and or a new experience to our residents.
Here are some ways you can make a difference
- Become a friend through regular visits
- Assist with group activities – nail care, music, art, craft, cooking, games
- Accompany a resident for walks around our beautiful grounds
- Assist with pastoral care & spiritual support
- Learn and deliver Virtual Reality program – training provided
- Visit residents with the Lolly/Gift trolley.
