Personal Care Assistant

The Role

This position will support frail elderly people and elderly people in an attractive, supportive residential aged care setting. We are looking for people who are able to work a minimum of three shifts a week and have some flexibility to work across a range shifts on a permanent part-time basis from Monday to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest quality of resident care and support in accordance with individual care plans
  • Encouraging independence, upholding customers dignity, and support their right of choice.
  • Assist with daily living according to assessed needs including toileting, showering, dressing, feeding, personal hygiene and other tasks as directed by the Manager of the unit
  • Ensuring meals are served to residents at the appropriate time and temperature and uneaten meals are reported
  • Assisting with resident mobility focusing on safety and comfort
  • Identifying and reporting any issues or concerns to the Manager of the unit

Essential Criteria

  • Strong focus on resident wellbeing and be able to adapt your work practices to a range of resident needs
  • Demonstrated experience working with elderly people is preferable
  • Current National Criminal History Record Check
  • Have a genuine interested in adding value to residents on a daily basis
  • Resilient, quick thinking, and demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Strong focus on honesty, integrity and working independently

Please note the successful applicant must have three (3) Covid injections documented by the time of commencement.
