Home Care

Update 13 January 2022

Dear Client or Family Representative

I am writing to you to explain some changes we need to make so that OLOC can continue to provide services in the very unusual circumstances that we face because of the Covid crisis in the broader community. I am sure that you will appreciate the difficulty we face at the moment because of the sheer number of staff that have either contracted the virus or who have had to isolate because someone close to them has. As a result, it has become very difficult for us to provide the same range of services to clients that we would normally provide and for the next few weeks we need to focus on providing essential services.

Unfortunately, this means that we won’t be able to take clients to venues like shopping centres, there will need to be some compromise in terms of the time when services are provided and we may not be able to provide the staff members that you are familiar with and have a relationship with.

Health experts say that this Covid crisis will start to drop off very soon, and if that is true then we may only need to do this for a few weeks.  But in the meantime, we need to continue to provide a more basic level of service than we would normally do.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we endeavour to provide services to our clients in these difficult circumstances.  If you have any questions or concerns please speak with your Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator and we will do our best to address them.
